Pray Proclaim and Promote the Gospel of Life
Spring 2002

Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God

through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom

we have gained access by faith to this grace

in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5: 1-2

“Our faith history as a people of African descent has been a living testimony

that the hand of God continues to lead and sustain us.”

Mother’s Day – Father’s Day Pledge for Life

Bishop J. Terry Steib, S.V.D., NBCAL Episcopal Moderator, invites the African American Catholic community to pause during the celebration of Mother’s Day and

Father’s Day 2002 to make a  pledge for Life.
This pledge could take place during the “Intercessory Prayers” at Mass.

PLEDGE FOR LIFE IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY

I______________ HUMBLY MAKE THIS PLEDGE TO UPHOLD AND RESPECT THE DIGNITY OF LIFE FROM THE MOMENT OF CONCEPTION TO ITS NATURAL END IN MY FAMILY AND COMMUNITY.

LORD, HELP ME TO RUN THIS RACE AND TO BE YOUR FAITHFUL
WITNESS FOR LIFE.  AMEN, HALLEJUAH, AMEN

We are happy to announce that the

National Black Catholic Congress has entered into

partnership with the National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life.

May God continue to bless our efforts as we strive to be
