O Mary what you gonna name that pretty little baby?

Some call him one thing, I think I’ll call Him Jesus.

Glory! Glory!

Glory to that new-born King!

WHAT YOU GONNA NAME THAT PRETTY LITTLE BABY?

based on human love and respect for life.

 KWANZAA FOR LIFE
You are asked to promote and celebrate Kwanzaa for Life in your parish and community.

This is our second year to celebrate KWANZAA FOR LIFE.
Last year Bishop J. Terry Steib, SVD, Bishop of Memphis and Episcopal Advisor to the National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life, called us as a community to  “pray for the dignity of human life” as we celebrated Kwanzaa.

The KWANZAA FOR LIFE 2001-2002 Program can be found below in this   “Reverence for Life”, winter edition 2001.

Kwanzaa is a seven-day celebration of family, community and culture that’s observed December 26 – January 1st.  This observance gives us an opportunity to pray together as well as renew our values, strengths and dignity as African Americans.  Founded by Dr. Maulana Karenga in 1966, the word “Kwanzaa” comes from the Swahili phrase “Matuna Ya Kwanzaa,” which means “first fruits of the harvest.”

Pray for Life in our Motherland Africa

As we celebrate Kwanzaa for Life, let us also pray for the dignity and sacredness of life in our Motherland Africa.  Let us unite our prayers for life with the prayers of our sisters and brothers in Africa.
