NATIONAL BLACK CATHOLIC
APOSTOLATE FOR LIFE |
During the month
of June, the National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life and Black Americans for
Life jointly launched a project to help educate members of the African American
community on the horrors of abortion.
Franciscan
Father Jim Goode, OFM, Founder and President of the National Black Catholic
Apostolate for Life believes that it is time for the African American Community
to realize the great threat that abortion is to the future of all Black
Americans. More than 13 million African American babies have been killed
since abortion was legalized in 1973. Black women have a third of all the
abortions even though Blacks are only 12% of the U.S. population- it’s a
horrible tragedy. The National
Black Catholic Apostolate for Life joins hands with the National Right
to Life’s Black Americans for Life outreach to spread the good news that we
are all God’s children and that we need to work together to protect life—all
human life.
Due to the
overwhelming support and endorsement of this abortion awareness effort this year
the ABORTION AWARENESS IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY month will extend through August
2002.
Brochures and
bumper stickers are available from the Outreach Department at National Right to
