Tuesdays during Lent 2011 –
A Day of Fasting for Life and the Poor


Father James E. Goode, OFM, Ph.D, (March 6, 2011) announces that the
National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life is calling for African American and African Catholics to mark the Tuesdays of Lent 2011 – “A Day of Fasting for Life and the Poor”.

          The National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life are encouraging the faithful to join them on the Tuesdays during Lent as additional days of fasting and prayer for the end of abortion and all acts of violence that are destroying our community and nation.

The National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life was inaugurated in the fall of 1997, with the National Black Catholic Clergy Caucus and the
Franciscan Solid Ground Ministry as sponsors and with the support of the late John Cardinal O'Connor, then Archbishop of New York and the Archdiocesan Office of Black Ministry - Brother Tyrone A. Davis, CFC, Executive Director.  Since then, NBCAL Affiliates
